GPs Are on Your Side
This information video has been produced by the BMA (British Medical Association) to help patients understand the reasons why GP Practices are struggling at the moment and why in turn patients are struggling to get an appointment with their Doctor.
GPs want you to be able to have appointments that are simple and easy for you to make. GPs are over-stretched and over-worked, working long hours and still unable to see all their patients. Practices are becoming more expensive to run and many practices are closing even though demand is increasing.
Practice funding in England has fallen by £660 million since 2019. Practices get just 30 pence a day for every patient registered, that is less than the price of an apple and there is no funding for more GPs or Practice Nurses at local surgeries.
GPs want the same thing as you do, General Practice as it once was, a family doctor you know, offering you the care that you need. Join us in calling for more Doctors, Practice Nurses, more buildings, more appointments and more staff to safely manage your care.
